INTRO TO GROWING YOUR OWN CUT FLOWER GARDEN
Have you ever dreamed of having your own cutting garden ~ beautiful blooms, and the joy of harvesting to your hearts content the flowers you've grown from seed?
Come spend a few hours learning basic techniques on how to grow and maintain your own small scale cut flower garden for your personal enjoyment! Together we'll talk about cut flower varieties, seed sowing language (so you will know what all that information on those seed packets mean), different seed sowing techniques, requirements & lighting (for starters). We'll share seed sources and talk about how to get the most from your cut flower garden. We'll talk about pinching and proper harvesting techniques and how to get the longest vase life from your homegrown flowers. We'll even get our hands dirty practicing seedling bump ups (transplanting).
You'll take away a pretty little notebook, seeds to sow and a whole lot of information to get you started at home.
This workshop is not for flower farmers or professional growers (we won't be touching on the business of cut flowers) but home gardeners wanting to grow a backyard cut flower garden for personal use.
